Belgian TAM Calculator

How many companies are in your Belgian target market, and what is it worth?
Counted bottom-up from official KBO open data, no guesswork.

How it works

Choose your target market. Select your sectors from 87 recognisable categories and pick your region: all of Belgium, one region or individual provinces. The tool instantly counts how many active legal entities are registered there, straight from KBO open data.

Add your customer value. Enter your average annual customer value and you see your TAM in euro. Then refine into SAM, the part you can genuinely serve, and SOM, what you can realistically win next year based on your win rate and sales capacity.

Translate into pipeline. Your TAM in company count and euro shows instantly. The SAM and SOM refinement, your pipeline target with required SQLs, the breakdown per sector and province and the printable report unlock with your email address. From your pipeline target you link through to the Lead Gen Budget Calculator for the media budget behind it.

What’s behind the numbers

The company counts come from the open data of the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO/CBE, FPS Economy), reference date 2 June 2026. Counted: more than 700,000 active legal entities, each exactly once, by their main activity under NACE-BEL 2025 and by the province of their registered office.

The tool is honest about its limits. Sole traders are not included, there is no employee or revenue filter (the registry holds no headcount data) and the province is that of the registered office, not of branches. Every assumption is stated openly in the methodology section of the tool itself.

The company count is real data. The euro amount is your ACV assumption times that count, and SAM and SOM are your estimates, guided by the tool. Treat the outcome as a defensible range for your board slide or GTM plan, not a prediction to the euro.

FAQ

What do TAM, SAM and SOM mean?

TAM is your total addressable market: every company that could buy your product or service. SAM is the part of it you can genuinely serve with your current offer and focus. SOM is what you can realistically win from that in the short term, capped by your win rate and sales capacity. The tool guides those three steps explicitly, with your assumptions visible.

How is this different from other TAM calculators?

Most TAM calculators make you guess market sizes and then apply percentages. This tool counts bottom-up: every active Belgian legal entity, per sector and per province, from official KBO open data. You start from a real number instead of an estimate, with the source and reference date shown.

Is the tool free and do I need an account?

Free, no account needed. Your TAM, in company count and in euro, is freely visible. The SAM and SOM refinement, your pipeline target, the full breakdown and the printable report unlock with your email address.

Can I get the list of company names?

Not as a download, by design: the KBO licence and GDPR set conditions on that. If you want an actual named target list as a starting point for outreach, we scope that in a conversation and deliver it as a tailored service.

A market number is the start.

Turning it into a sharp ICP, a target list and a working go-to-market plan, that is what I help B2B teams with.
